About the Founder

Stephanie C. James is the Founder and Principal of Black Butterfly Consulting, LLC, and the author of The Canary Reports.

She brings 27 years of experience in federal pursuit strategy, complex requirements analysis, research, and decision support. Her work in U.S. government contracting required her to examine how public needs are defined, how requirements and opportunities are framed, what evidence supports a proposed course of action, and what can affect the outcome.

Stephanie applies that discipline to BBC LLC’s strategic intelligence research and organization-specific engagements. Her work makes complex issues understandable without reducing them to simple answers the evidence cannot support.

Our Analytical Posture
